Google and ADT have collaborated for three years to create Nest-integrated products, and they have now unveiled their latest security tools. ADT’s Self Setup range of security tools is user-friendly and incorporates Google Nest’s technology, with deep integration in each product.
ADT Self Setup includes various components such as door and window sensors, motion sensors, smoke detectors, temperature sensors, flooding sensors, and a keypad for making adjustments. Additionally, ADT is set to introduce a keychain remote for even more control options. All these products connect via a centralized hub with a built-in keyboard, siren, and full battery backup.
The system components are fully integrated with almost all Google Nest devices, including the Nest Doorbell, Nest Learning Thermostat, Nest WiFi Router, and various indoor and outdoor cameras. Users can make adjustments to their Nest devices using the ADT+ app, and they will receive customized notifications from Nest cameras and doorbells whenever they detect any activity. The notifications can also identify the type of activity, such as a person or an animal.

Customers can use the app to create routines and automations that combine both Nest and ADT security features, such as scheduling doors to lock or turning lights on or off. Opting into ADT’s smart monitoring system costs $25 per month and provides video verification, 24/7 monitoring, and other benefits. While the products can be used without a paid monitoring plan, not all features will be available.
The ADT Self Setup system is now available for purchase, with a basic package costing $180, a starter package at $480 that includes a Nest Doorbell and related sensors, and an ultra-premium package at $580, which includes everything in the starter package plus a second-generation Nest Hub.
